Workshops and Lectures

Full day workshops offer another dimension for personal growth and provides an opportunity for a unique interactive group learning experience.  Workshops and retreats on mindful eating, body image, and overall self-care are offered seasonally in the Spring and Fall. 

Lectures and presentations on a diversity of mental health-related issues are available to professional groups, community agencies, college students and those seeking in-service training.  Social workers seeking continuing education units (CEUs) can choose half-day or full-day workshops that meet state licensing requirements.  

In the future, I will also provide training for professionals in leading an eight-week group model for binge eating disorder.  This innovative model, which incorporates mindfulness principles and skills, is discussed in an article I authored and published in Clinical Social Work Journal (Starkman, 2016).  Click here for a preview of the article published by Springer Press.
